Convention Packing List

Direct Sales can be a fun way to earn some extra cash for your family and connect with others who share your interests and passion, no matter which company you choose to work with. While I personally love being a LuLaRoe Retailer all year long, convention season in the summer is my favorite time of year. In 2018, I will not only get to attend my own company’s training in California this July but also an incredibly special one called SassyCon, hosted by the one and only Brenda Ster, that will bring together representatives from many different companies at the beginning of June. Since I can’t contain my excitement that long, I’m already putting together my convention packing list in April! If you are one of the millions of representatives who will be attending a direct sales summit this summer, I hope this convention packing list will help make it easier for you!

Click here to print the checklist as a PDF file. If you aren’t sure what I meant by something or think of a necessity that I didn’t include on my convention packing list, let me know in the comments.

Lularoe Unicorn and Other Words to Know

“I’m DISO my unicorn in OS. I saw them in an OOTD but someone beat me to it in the albums.” Uhhh… come again? LuLaRoe is a bit of a tribe and if you’ve never shopped the brand before, it can feel like you are listening to people speak in a foreign language the first time you stumble into a group. I thought I’d give you a quick glossary of the jargon so you can get out there hunting your own LuLaRoe unicorn in no time.

Albums
Many Facebook groups hold regular or semi-regular “Album Sales” (mine are every Friday at 9pm). Basically, you know how you can go to a friend’s Facebook page, check their photos and find an album of JUST their wedding photos? Well, with an album sale you can do the same thing but instead of a drunken best man speech, you find photos of cute clothes and can purchase them right from the shop by commenting “Sold” or something similar.

Capsule
A mini-wardrobe assembled of several coordinating pieces that can be mixed & matched to make an array of different outfits.

ISO and DISO
Something you are “In Search of” or worse, “DESPERATELY in Search Of”

Live
A Facebook Live Video during which the Retailer usually is selling clothes and chatting with viewers.

OOTD
Outfit of the Day which may be the Retailer modeling a general style for you, or it may be for sale. Read the wording on the photo for this one.

OS, TC and TC2
LuLaRoe Leggings sizes. OS stands for One Size and is best suited for adults who typically wear sizes 2-10. TC, or Tall & Curvy, typically fits sizes 12-18. TC2 is an extended version of Tall & Curvy and usually the best fit for sizes 20 and up.

Pinned Post
The post pinned to the top of the page that will welcome you to the group, answer basic questions, and provide general information about how a particular group is run.

TRL
Total Request Live! Remember Carson Daly taking your requests and then playing the music videos on MTV about 20(!) years ago? Same concept but with clothes! Tell the Retailer which style and size you want to see and they will oblige.

Unicorn or LuLaRoe Unicorn
A highly sought after item that you can never seem to find in your own size. LuLaRoe does not have a catalogue so all of our prints are produced a limited number of times (around 5,000), split between different sizes and styles, and then shipped out to Retailers across the country. If you see something you love, you have to snag it because chances are high that you won’t see the same thing again. Let the item taunt you long enough and it can feel like you are chasing a mythical beast around the internet… a LuLaRoe Unicorn.

Wall Drops
Outfits or items posted directly onto the group wall for sale. If it shows up in your newsfeed and is still available, you can claim it for purchase.

Lularoe words to know

I hope this helps make it all a little less confusing but if you’re still feeling a little lost on the world of LuLaRoe, check out this post for an introduction to the brand. And, if you’re ready to see some of these awesome clothes (or just the community that comes with them), come join my  group over on Facebook.

What is LuLaRoe? An Introduction to the Brand

LuLaRoe is quickly becoming a household name, but here’s a quick rundown if you aren’t yet familiar with the brand. LuLaRoe is a family-owned business boasting a line of comfortable, stylish and modest clothing with women’s sizes ranging from XXS to 3XL as well as a few style for kids and men.

What Makes LuLaRoe Different?

There are no catalogs with LuLaRoe and each print is produced a limited number of times. That print is divided amongst several styles and sizes and then shipped out to Independent Retailers throughout the country. If you see something you love, you will want to snag it quickly because you aren’t likely to see it in your size again. The pain of this system is that you may see something you NEED but you can’t ever find it again (many people refer to that item as your “Unicorn” because it’s basically a mythical creature you aren’t likely to find in the wild). On the upside, the beauty of this business model is that we have new patterns coming out every single day so there is always something new to fall in love with and you aren’t likely to show up to an event wearing the same outfit as anyone else!

Why LuLaRoe?

Personally, I joined LuLaRoe to help me through my struggle with post-partum depression. I needed something to help me regain my confidence, to introduce me to a sisterhood of women, and to add some depth to my days aside from “just” being a mommy. Being an Independent Retailer has given me all of those opportunities and more. If you have questions about LuLaRoe or my choice to work with them, I’m happy to answer them.

Where Can I Shop LuLaRoe?

LuLaRoe isn’t sold in stores, so you have to find an Independent Retailer to work with. Many people are introduced to the brand through in-home shopping parties often called “pop-ups” that are hosted by their friends. If you haven’t been invited to a party yet though, you’re welcome to join mine! I have a small Facebook group of supportive women who spend most of our time chatting and hanging out but I host a sale nearly every weekend within the group. Come check it out here with no obligation to buy –>http://www.ajoyfuljaunt.com/facebookgroup

Affiliate Link Disclosure

Whenever I find something awesome, I want to share it with all my friends! As a result, you may find affiliate links sprinkled throughout this site. What does that mean? Just that if you click on a link to a product or service I recommend and happen to make a purchase from that link, you pay the exact same price you normally would but that company gives me a little kickback for sending a customer their way. You get awesome stuff, the affiliate site gets a sale, and I get to pay for my daughter’s music classes and swim lessons. We all win!
